Fairglen is a groundbreaking state-of-the-art homes development situated just off the coastal road to the beach at Hayle, Cornwall.
This development was part-funded by the Low Carbon Buildings Programme. The 3 and 4 bedroom homes use a combination of ground-source heat pumps, photo voltaic arrays, rainwater harvesting and high levels of insulation.
Source Energy installed Danfoss ground source heat pumps with boreholes to provide hot water and underfloor heating for the properties.
The Danfoss range of ground source heat pumps are among the most efficient units available, providing low running costs and reduced carbon emissions when compared to conventional fossil fuel heating systems. They are very easy to operate though the menu-based system with an advanced but user friendly controller.
