Thermia Ground & Water Source Heat Pumps

Thermia heat pumps are part of the Danfoss group. The table below lists previous names used for each model.

Danfoss Thermia names

Ideal for domestic properties

The Thermia Dipolmat has an an integrated hot water tank (180l) – This is ideal for homes with a low to moderate hot water demand, using the highly efficient TWS technology to provide you with hot water quickly. Properties with a larger hot water demand would be more suited to the Thermia Dipolmat Duo models as this will have a separate hot water tank available in a range of sizes, this solution is also better for properties with restricted ceiling height.

Thermia Diplomat/Diplomat Duo

  •  Range of 5 power outputs from 6 to 16 kWh: By correctly sizing your heat pump you will benefit from maximum efficiency whilst avoiding the unnecessary installation costs of an over sized heat pump.
  • High efficiency – Thermia state that the COP* of this product is 3.99 to 4.34 (dependent on selected power output).
  • Remote management available – with Thermia Online.

Thermia Diplomat Optimum/Diplomat Duo Optimum G2

  • All of the benefits of the Thermia Diplomat/Diplomat Duo with improved efficiency: The G2 range of heat pumps adjust to the prevailing requirements and conditions of the heating system, therefore the heat pump will always perform to its maximum capability.

Thermia Diplomat/ Diplomat Duo Optimum G3 Range

  • All of the benefits of the Optimum G2 with bonus hot water: The HGW technology means that whilst you are heating your home, extra hot water is produced at the same time, giving you unbeatable hot water comfort and increased annual efficiency.

Heat pumps are perfect for large domestic properties and light commercial buildings

Thermia Solid

  • Large heating capacity: The Thermia Solid comes in a range of 20 – 42 kWh power outputs, it is therefore able to supply ample hot water and heating.
  • External hot water tank: This heat pump can be used for hot water only or an external hot water tank with the same aesthetics as the heat pump can be installed. It is ideal for buildings with a large hot water demand.
  • “Set and forget” control system: This system ensures hassle free operation, making it easier for homeowners or caretakers to operate.
  • High efficiency: Thermia state that the COP of this product is 3.53 to 3.81 (dependent on selected power output).*
  • Remote management available: Suitable for Thermia Online.

Thermia Robust

  • Large heating capacity: The DHP-S are available in a range of 20 – 42 kWh power outputs, it is therefore able to supply ample hot water and heating.
  • Advanced control system: Allows for multiple controlled zones for comfortable temperatures throughout the property.
  • Remote management: This pump is ideal for remotely managed properties. It integrates a secure web server, which allows the heat pump to be easily controlled via the internet. If something needs to be rectified, it will let you know automatically by e-mail or SMS.
  • Swimming pool applications: These heat pumps can produce enough energy to heat a swimming pool.
  • Up to 8 heat pumps can be combined: Multiple heat pumps can be linked together for larger demands on a master/slave system.
  • High efficiency: Thermia state that the COP of this product is 3.53 to 3.81 (dependent on selected power output).*

* Note on COPs

COP stands for Coefficient of Performance, this is the ratio of heat produced in the system in return of the the electricity input. If a heat pump has a COP of 3, this means that the system is 300% efficient with 3 times as many equivalent units of heat being produced per unit of electricity.

All COPs stated are provided by Thermia in line with the EN14511 standards, COPs were calculated at B0W35 conditions (Brine input = 0°C, Water output = 35°C).
