Mitsubishi Electric have selected one of our air source heat pump installations in Perran Downs, Cornwall for remote monitoring to study energy use and heat production.
The 3 bed domestic property was converted from an old swimming pool building. A 14kW Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump was installed to provide all hot water and heating.
This property belongs to one of our senior engineers, Martin Hodges, demonstrating our personal commitments to reduce carbon emissions and our devotion to ground and air source heat pumps because of their fantastic benefits.
We have analysed Mitsubishi Electric’s data for a 6 month period from 1st October 2012 to 31st March 2013. You may remember this being a particularly cold and long winter. Heating demands across the UK were particularly high, and you may have experienced expensive energy bills if you were heating your property using a traditional heating method such as an oil boiler.
Martin benefited from the low running costs associated with air source heat pumps, whilst maintaining a comfortable temperature of 19°C inside his renovated property.
On average the heat pump worked at a COP of 3.3 (1 unit of electricity produced 3.3 units of heat), which is very efficient for an air source heat pump. The Mitsubishi Electric data indicates that Martin saved over £280 over this 6 month period *.
Martin also reduced his carbon footprint by using 46% less carbon when heating his property *.
